Radio Corina International

Thanks to Tony who provided the following inside story of Radio Corina

Radio Corina broadcast from 10.00am-12.00pm each Sunday morning from 1979-1980 with pre-recorded programmes using a home made 40W mono transmitter and a C120 played on a Grundig cassette player. I used to get around 30 phone calls per week taken by someone I never met, in a draughty phone box in Plaistow and as many letters.

The transmissions were on 92.55Mhz (although announced as 92.4) and were either from Pole Hill in Chingford (a favourite location for several stations) or from the car radio aerial of my old Skoda parked at Alexandra Palace!

I eventually got busted in Epping Forest in 1979 and only returned to the air for Bank Holiday/Xmas live programmes which also went out on 7380Khz short wave.
